Ricondo started as a small, minority-owned company in 1989
During the following decades, the company met the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) criteria set by the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) and was certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) in multiple states. As an MBE, Ricondo served municipalities, independent authorities, metropolitan planning organizations, and other certifying agencies around the country. Following this success, Ricondo transitioned to an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) in 2018. The importance of federal, state, and local programs to provide meaningful opportunities for disadvantaged businesses such as Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) should not be underestimated. These certifications enabled Ricondo’s success.
Today, in support of our values and business objectives, Ricondo is continuing to advance our engagement with historically underutilized businesses, promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). This is a priority for us and will continue to contribute to our success and that of our DBE partners.

At times it was challenging, but generally speaking, I have always felt rewarded for hard work and haven’t felt like being a woman created any particular barriers.”
